Expression of the lotus flower
The lotus flower is one of the things the Buddists worship. There is also a festival for the Lotus flower which is held from the 28th of April to the 30th. Flowers are one of the three things given at time of worship(flowers, candles and incense). They may wilt and die but the joy comes from the general gift offering or as a shrine offering. They believe that the lotus flower was the first flower to bloom when the earth was created.

Effectiveness
I conclude after searching that the lotus flower has the effect of improving self-belief to Buddhists. It works for many Buddhists because it helps them through rough or messy situations. It is believed to give you a strong virtual force to help withstand hard times. It also represents good luck. The lotus flower has now become the National Flower.
